Helena Simpson appointed as new Trustee

Little Village is delighted to announce the appointment of a new trustee to its Board, Helena Simpson. She has joined following a recruitment process to identify a trustee with significant operational and retail experience in support of Little Village’s growing footprint across London.

Chair of Little Village, Olivia Gillan-Bower said:

“I’m really excited to welcome Helena to Little Village’s board of trustees. Demand for Little Village’s support is increasing and her experience in the consumer and retail industries will be of huge value as we seek to increase the number of families we can work with across London.”

Helena Simpson said:

“I first came across Little Village when I was looking to donate my own children’s newborn clothes and was immediately drawn to their mission. As a full-time working mother of two young children, supporting other mothers and helping young families thrive is something I’m passionate about. When I saw that Little Village was looking for a trustee with operational experience, I was eager to help.

My career in the retail sector has stretched from strategy and corporate development to leading operational projects at large UK retailers, most recently at Poundland setting up the early-stage e-commerce operation. There are important parallels between these private-sector initiatives and Little Village’s growth trajectory and I’m delighted to be bringing my experience to the Board.”

Helena has over 15 years’ experience in the consumer & retail industry across a number of senior roles in strategy, corporate development and operations. She is currently Chief Executive Officer of a London-based start-up. She is mum to two little ones and lives in Richmond.
