We’re hiring: Head of Marketing & Communications

Our dream is that every child in the capital has the essential things they need to thrive, and that everyone can play a part in achieving that goal.

Are you passionate about tackling child poverty and motivated by Little Village’s values of Love, Solidarity, Thriving and Sustainability? Do you believe in our model of bringing families together to help each other? Would you enjoy working in the fast-paced environment of a small, ambitious and relatively new organisation?

We’re a small organisation working on a huge agenda. However, we are already punching above our weight and attracting national attention through the stories we’ve been telling about child poverty, which have been featured on ITV News (national and regional), Channel 4 News, BBC London News and in the Daily Mirror and HELLO! magazine, to name a few.

We’re looking for a Head of Marketing and Communications to build on our work to date by taking things to the next level – developing and implementing a marketing and communications strategy, encompassing social media, digital, brand and media engagement. You will take on leadership and execution of brand marketing, communications, digital planning and prioritisation to ensure we use our resources effectively, generating the highest levels of awareness, interest and action. We’ve grown fast and don’t always have the systems and processes we need in place as a result, so we need someone who can lead on implementing those in the team and across the organisation. You will also play an active role across the organisation as a key member of the management team. But it’s not all about the strategic. We need someone as happy getting stuck in with hands on doing as well as big picture thinking.

We think that this job requires 28-35 hours per week, but we’re open to discussions about flexibility. The role is home-based, but you will be expected to visit our sites and work with the teams across London on a regular basis. The salary is £45,000 FTE per annum (gross), and the successful applicant will require a DBS check.

We are working towards a goal where our team fully reflects that diversity and difference in lived experiences and strongly encourage applications from under-represented groups including: people from Black, Asian and Minority Ethnic backgrounds, LGBTQ+ people, people with disabilities, people with lived experience of poverty either personally or through family, experience of the care system, non-graduates and first-in-family graduates. As part of our commitment to fairer recruitment, all applications will be assessed without names and any protected characteristics.

The deadline is Monday 20th March 2023 at 9am and all the information on the role and how to apply is here: RLTV23 Job pack – Head of Marketing and Communications
