Blanche has an abiding interest in redistributing surplus items for social benefit. She has worked with the Family Holiday Association, and most recently FareShare, before joining the Little Village team. She is launching our service in Southwark, where we will go live in 2019.
Tessa is a senior editor at Practical Law – Thomson Reuters, and is also an associate lecturer at the Open University. She’s co-chair of Ivy House Community Pub Limited, having led the campaign to secure the Ivy House on behalf of the local community in Peckham Rye. Having seen Little Village in action in Wandsworth, Tessa was inspired to bring Little Village to the Ivy House to ensure that the venue does all it can to contribute to the local community and benefits as many people as possible.
Clare had a 19 year career in human resources including senior roles across a range of industries. She’s now taking a break to spend more time with her young family. Having previously followed and supported Stripey Stork, Clare was looking for an opportunity to support her local community when she heard about the Crowdfunder for Little Village Southwark. Unable to contain her excitement and enthusiasm she badgered and then joined forces with Tessa, Marie and Hannah and has been making lists ever since!
Marie is a television editor, working on documentaries, entertainment and current affairs for over 15 years, and a mum to two young boys. Whilst her youngest is still at home, Marie wanted to get involved in supporting other families as she understands the challenges of raising a family and was inspired by the amazing work Little Village has done.
Hannah has spent more than ten years working in the addiction field, delivering drug and alcohol treatment in prisons and helping offenders turn their lives around. Having seen the amazing work at Little Village Wandsworth, and having recently become a mother herself, Hannah is thrilled to be a part of supporting local families in Southwark.
Sophia set up Little Village and continues to guide its growth based on our vision and mission. You can read more about her story here. She’s worked in and around the issues of poverty and inequality for 20 years, and has a track record in designing innovative, community based solutions to social challenges.
Candice’s career has been dedicated to addressing inequality and injustice, initially as a factual TV Producer and Director and more recently in the charity sector. Her role at Little Village is a perfect fusion of her passions – achieving impact through good organisation and analysis; and offering opportunities to those in need to improve their practical and emotional wellbeing.
