We’re Hiring: Daytime and Evening Session Leads at Little Village Camden

Our dream is that every child in the capital has the essential things they need to thrive, and that everyone can play a part in achieving that goal.

Are you passionate about tackling child poverty and motivated by Little Village’s values of Love, Solidarity, Thriving and Sustainability? Do you believe in our model of bringing families together to help each other? Would you enjoy working in an environment of a small, ambitious and relatively new organisation?

We’ve grown to be one of the largest ‘baby banks’ in the UK, with over 50 employees supporting more than 25,000 children since we launched in 2016 – including more than 7,000 children in 2022 alone.

At the beginning of February we opened the doors of our new Camden home to families we support. From this amazing space, we will continue to pass on pre-loved items for ages 0-5 to families that visit, as well as prepare lots of ‘bundles of joy’ that can be delivered to homes across the capital.

We are now recruiting for Daytime and Evening Session Leads at our Little Village site in Camden. As a Session Lead, you will co-manage a team of volunteers to ensure the volunteering session is run effectively, productively and in line with Little Village values. You will also ensure volunteer tasks are completed and the hub is set up for the following days activities. You’ll be passionate about tackling child poverty and motivated by our values of love, solidarity, thriving and sustainability.

We are looking to fill the following vacancies and would welcome applications for a combination of daytime and evening sessions:

Hours of work

·       Mondays 18:00 – 21:00

·       Wednesdays 18:00 – 21:00 (term time only)

·       Wednesdays & Saturdays 09:00-16:00

·       Saturdays 09:00 -16:00

The salary is £25,539 (FTE) gross per annum, or £14.03 per hour, and the role will be offered on a permanent contract basis. The successful candidate will require a DBS check.

We are working towards a goal where our team fully reflects that diversity and difference in lived experiences and strongly encourage applications from under-represented groups including: people from Black, Asian and Minority Ethnic backgrounds, LGBTQ+ people, people with disabilities, people with lived experience of poverty either personally or through family, experience of the care system, non-graduates and first-in-family graduates. As part of our commitment to fairer recruitment, all applications will be assessed without names and any protected characteristics.

The deadline is 19th March 2024 at 9am. You can find out more about the role here: Session Lead at Little Village Camden – March24, and apply using this online application form.
