Volunteer with us
In a living room in Tooting, the first very first bundle was packed. There was our founder, surrounded by her friends and neighbours – the first Little Village volunteers. Coming together, they supported a local family who’d lost their home in a fire.
Volunteers remain at the heart of Little Village, whether it’s working with families directly, sorting donations, making deliveries or supporting over the phone.
In return we offer a very warm welcome and a hands-on way to make a positive difference; we couldn’t help all the families we do, without people like you.

FAQs
What will I be doing as a volunteer?
Activities can change depending on where you’re based or what role you do, but there’s always something to keep you busy.
On-site volunteering – working at one of our hubs, these regular volunteers help to sort incoming donations, prepare gift bundles and welcome families. See our activities list for more information.
Homebased – talking to families over the telephone to understand their situations, helping to make sure they’re accessing all the support available to them. These roles are more in-depth so require training and DBS before you start.
Drivers – on the road, these volunteers will help deliver our gifts directly to families in their homes or help to distribute stock. DBS is required for this role.
Volunteering is a brilliant way to meet new people, to learn new skills, and to make a real and direct difference in the local community.
Where can I volunteer?
Volunteers are welcomed at all of our sites. We currently have four Baby Banks in Brent, Camden, Tooting and Hackney, who all support families each week. There are also donation points in Balham and Roehampton where volunteers help out too.
You can see our current vacancy lists on our Volunteer Application Form.
When can I volunteer?
That very much depends on where you’d like to volunteer. Each of our sites run slightly different times and days but mostly, we’re between 9.30am – 16:00 within the week.
Home based roles can be slightly more flexible.
How often will I volunteer?
We ask volunteers sign-up for a regular shift either weekly or fortnightly. As we’re a relatively small charity still, help from our volunteers really is invaluable. We plan many of our activities each week based on who is coming in, this means a regular shift is the most useful to us.
How can I sign up?
Our Volunteer Application form is the quickest way.
Here you’ll be able to let us know your availability, what site and what roles you’d like to get involved in. One of our team will then be in touch to set you up ready to get started.
I want to volunteer with a team of colleagues, can we do that?
Yes, absolutely. We work with lots of organisations across London who come in to help at our sites. It’s a great way to work as a team off-site whilst being hands-on and helping to support our families.
