Signposting & Guidance

What will I be doing as a volunteer?

Our Signposting & Guidance Volunteers support families in the medium term, over several conversations. Based at home, they’re a friendly voice helping families access local services. As a volunteer you will speak to families, talking through a range of issues including money, housing and wellbeing. You will help them to access extra support, e.g. issuing food-bank vouchers and talk to other organisations and professionals on their behalf.

Where can I volunteer?

This is a home based role; you will need a  phone and a laptop. If you don’t have these, or your home is unsuitable for any reason, we don’t want that to be an obstacle, so please contact us for an informal chat about what alternative options might be possible.

How often will I volunteer?

After training (25 hours), we ask for a minimum of 4 hours a week for at least 6 months.

How can I sign up?

We recruit for Signposting and Guidance twice a year. We are not currently recruiting for this role.  Please check back again regularly or scroll down to the bottom of the page and sign up for updates.
