We're Hiring: Evening Session Lead (Brent)

Our dream is that every child in the capital has the essential things they need to thrive, and that everyone can play a part in achieving that goal.

Are you passionate about tackling child poverty and motivated by Little Village’s values of Love, Solidarity, Thriving and Sustainability? Do you believe in our model of bringing families together to help each other? Would you enjoy working in an environment of a small, ambitious and relatively new organisation?

We’ve grown to be one of the largest ‘baby banks’ in the UK, supporting over 25,000 children since we launched in 2016 – including over 7,000 children in 2022 alone.

Little Village has over 50 employees who work across our hubs and our network team and ensure that our operations and programmes effectively meet the needs of the families we support. We pride ourselves in offering flexible working, enabling our team to combine meaningful work with time for family and other interests.

We are now recruiting for an Evening Session Lead at our Little Village site in Brent. As the Evening Session Lead, you will co-manage a team of volunteers to ensure the volunteering session is run effectively, productively and in line with Little Village values. You will also ensure volunteer tasks are completed and the hub is set up for the following days activities. You’ll be passionate about tackling child poverty and motivated by our values of love, solidarity, thriving and sustainability.

We are looking for someone who can work 3hours per week on a Monday, 6:30 – 9:30pm. The salary is £24,795 (FTE) gross per annum, or £13.62 per hour, and the role will be offered on a permanent contract basis. The successful candidate will require a DBS check.

We are working towards a goal where our team fully reflects that diversity and difference in lived experiences and strongly encourage applications from under-represented groups including: people from Black, Asian and Minority Ethnic backgrounds, LGBTQ+ people, people with disabilities, people with lived experience of poverty either personally or through family, experience of the care system, non-graduates and first-in-family graduates. As part of our commitment to fairer recruitment, all applications will be assessed without names and any protected characteristics.

The deadline is 27th February 2024 at 9am and all the information on the role and how to apply is here: Brent Evening Session Lead JD Feb 24
