We are Hiring: General Warehouse Assistant

Our dream is that every child in the capital has the essential things they need to thrive, and that everyone can play a part in achieving that goal.

Are you passionate about tackling child poverty and motivated by Little Village’s values of Love, Solidarity, Thriving and Sustainability? Do you believe in our model of bringing families together to help each other? Would you enjoy working in an environment of a small, ambitious and relatively new organisation?

We’ve grown to be one of the largest ‘baby banks’ in the UK, with over 50 employees supporting more than 25,000 children since we launched in 2016 – including more than 8,500 children in 2023 alone.

At the end of May we’re opening our new Warehouse in Wandsworth. From this new space, we will continue to support our London Hubs by distributing donated items to pass on to families that visit, as well as directly sending Big Kit items to families throughout London via courier or volunteer drivers.

We are now recruiting for a Warehouse Assistant at our Little Village Wandsworth Warehouse. As a Warehouse Assistant, you will work with the team to ensure the day to day running of the warehouse by loading and unloading deliveries and helping to manage the Big Kit in and out of the warehouse. You’ll be passionate about tackling child poverty and motivated by our values of love, solidarity, thriving and sustainability.

The salary is £25,539 (FTE) gross per annum, and the role will be offered on a fixed term contract basis. The successful candidate will require a DBS check.

We are working towards a goal where our team fully reflects that diversity and difference in lived experiences and strongly encourage applications from under-represented groups including: people from Black, Asian and Minority Ethnic backgrounds, LGBTQ+ people, people with disabilities, people with lived experience of poverty either personally or through family, experience of the care system, non-graduates and first-in-family graduates. As part of our commitment to fairer recruitment, all applications will be assessed without names and any protected characteristics.

The deadline is 5th June 2024 at 9am. You can find out more about the role here: Gen WH assistant May 24 and apply using this online application form.
