We’re Hiring: Signposting & Guidance Lead

Our dream is that every child in the capital has the essential things they need to thrive, and that everyone can play a part in achieving that goal.

Are you passionate about tackling child poverty and motivated by Little Village’s values of Love, Solidarity, Thriving and Sustainability? Do you believe in our model of bringing families together to help each other? Would you enjoy working in the fast-paced environment of a small, ambitious and relatively new organisation?

The Signposting & Guidance Programme is a growing initiative for Little Village, allowing us to provide practical support beyond the kit and clothing that our baby bank offers. Families have told us:

“like a lot of weight was lifted off my shoulders”

“everything is falling into place now”

“its still a struggle, but its much better”

We are looking for a Signposting & Guidance lead to join the team and offer quality signposting & guidance, supervision of volunteers, and support the development of the service. You’ll be supporting families based across London, but the work will be carried out remotely.

You’ll have experience of offering signposting and guidance in money, housing, benefits or welfare, or a related area. You’ll be passionate about tackling child poverty and motivated by Little Village’s values.

Little Village has 57 employees who work across our hubs and our network team and ensure that our operations and programmes effectively meet the needs of the families we support. We pride ourselves in offering flexible working, enabling our team to combine meaningful work with time for family and other interests.

We think this role requires 14 hours per week, but we’re open to discussions about flexibility. The salary is £26,000 (FTE) gross, and the role will be offered on a 12 month FTC basis. The successful candidate will require a DBS check.

We are working towards a goal where our team fully reflects that diversity and difference in lived experiences and strongly encourage applications from under-represented groups including: people from Black, Asian and Minority Ethnic backgrounds, LGBTQ+ people, people with disabilities, people with lived experience of poverty either personally or through family, experience of the care system, non-graduates and first-in-family graduates. As part of our commitment to fairer recruitment, all applications will be assessed without names and any protected characteristics.

The deadline is 13th December 2023 at 9am and all the information on the role and how to apply can be found here: Signposting Guidance Lead at Little Village – Job Description – November 2023[73]
