One Off Volunteering Days

Want to get involved but can’t commit to regular volunteering? Do you have CSR days (paid volunteering days from your employer) that your employer gives you every year? Are you interested in volunteering with us, but want to try it first?

Welcome to a Little Village one-off volunteering day!

Our hubs in Camden, Brent, Tooting and Wandsworth (our warehouse) would love to welcome you for the day. Join us to meet new people, support families and make a real difference – all in just one day.

You will make a big impact by helping to sort donations, pack essential baby items, and support families across London. From folding tiny clothes to assembling baby bundles, every small act of kindness makes a big difference to families in need.

Sometimes, we also have One-Off days focused on Big Kit, where you will focus on larger items only (such as beds, buggies and beds). If you get a kick out of assembling flat packs or love tinkering, building and fixing things, then these days are for you!

We have limited spaces available and we are filling them up on a first-come first-serve basis.

FAQs

What happens on the day?

You will be guided by our team who will introduce you to all things Little Village. Activities on the day may include:

  • Checking donated items, ensuring they are all of gift quality.
  • Organising checked items by gender, age, and type.
  • Making bundles or gift packs e.g., underwear, socks, bibs and linen (not at the warehouse).
  • Ensuring that larger essential items (such as beds, buggies and beds) are safety checked, cleaned and in perfect working order.

What do I need for this role?

  • Attention to detail
  • Able to carry out light manual tasks
  • A smile and comfy shoes
  • No experience needed

Is there an age limit?

We love welcoming young people to our One-Off Days, as long as they’re accompanied by an adult.

  • At our Wandsworth Warehouse, the minimum age is 14
  • At our Brent, Camden and Tooting sites, we can welcome those aged 10+

Can I join as a group?

These sessions are designed for individuals and small groups. We bring together people from different backgrounds and perspectives in every group, so for this reason the maximum number of people from the same group/company is as follows:

  • 7 at our Wandsworth Warehouse
  • 2 at our Brent, Camden and Tooting sites

How can I book my spot?

Click here to complete our registration form and see the dates currently available (we add dates throughout the year).

We use an app called Volunteero to manage our volunteering. Once we’ve received and processed your form (usually within two days), you’ll get an e-mail from us with your login details and the link to download the app.

Once on the app, you will see all available shifts and you can book your place by clicking “Join”.

We look forward to seeing you at one of our sessions!

Read what other volunteers have to say:

“I had a wonderful day volunteering with Little Village! The moment you walk into the room you’re hit with warmth and colour – it’s such an inviting space. The staff and other volunteers were so friendly and helpful in explaining the tasks and we got to switch up roles throughout the day so the time really flew by! It’s lovely to know that your small actions will make a big difference to children and families’ lives experiencing really difficult situations.”

“For my first time doing anything like this it has inspired me to volunteer as much as I can on a regular basis. What a fantastic organisation and wonderful group of people”

“I had an amazing time volunteering at the Little Village warehouse! The space was incredibly well-organized and accessible, which made everything run smoothly. The team was composed of friendly and approachable people, which created a positive atmosphere and made my day enjoyable. It was fulfilling to be part of such a collaborative effort to support families in need, and I left feeling inspired and grateful for the experience.”
