We are hiring: Business Support Assistant

Our dream is that every child in the capital has the essential things they need to thrive, and that everyone can play a part in achieving that goal.

Are you passionate about tackling child poverty and motivated by Little Village’s values of Love, Solidarity, Thriving and Sustainability? Do you believe in our model of bringing families together to help each other? Would you enjoy working in an environment of a small, ambitious and relatively new organisation?

We’ve grown to be one of the largest ‘baby banks’ in the UK, with over 60 employees supporting more than 25,000 children since we launched in 2016 – including more than 8,500 children in 2023 alone.

We are now recruiting for a Business Support Assistant to join our Finance & Operations teams. As a Business Support Assistant, you will provide the ‘behind the scenes’ support that allows our teams to keep doing what they do best. You will ensure the smooth running of our sites through overseeing facilities and contract maintenance and providing health, safety and finance support.

We’re looking for someone to work 28 hours per week, but we are open to discussions about flexibility. We can’t promise to give you exactly what you want, but we do promise not to judge you for asking. The salary is £27,000 – £29,000 (FTE) gross per annum, and the role will be offered on a permanent contract basis. The successful candidate will require a DBS check.

We are working towards a goal where our team fully reflects that diversity and difference in lived experiences and strongly encourage applications from under-represented groups including: people from Black, Asian and Minority Ethnic backgrounds, LGBTQ+ people, people with disabilities, people with lived experience of poverty either personally or through family, experience of the care system, non-graduates and first-in-family graduates. As part of our commitment to fairer recruitment, all applications will be assessed without names and any protected characteristics.

The deadline is 15th July 2024 at 9am. You can find out more about the role here: Business Support Assistant JD  and apply using this online application form.
