Little Village, Sophie Livingstone, CEO receives MBE

The Chief Executive of Little Village, Sophie Livingstone, received her MBE last week from the Duke of Cambridge at a ceremony at Windsor Castle. The MBE was for services to charity.

Sophie has worked in the charity and voluntary sectors for the past twenty years as both a staff member and trustee including at the Foyer Federation, Groundwork UK and the Royal Voluntary Service. She co-founded youth social action coalition Generation Change in 2013 and the youth volunteering charity City Year UK, in 2009.

Sophie Livingstone MBE said:

“It was wonderful to receive my MBE from the Duke of Cambridge and to have a chance to thank him for his wife’s wonderful support for Little Village during the pandemic.

“I hope that this recognition helps to draw more attention to Little Village’s work with low-income families and the challenges they are facing at a time of rising costs.

“Social change doesn’t happen alone – it does, to coin a phrase, take a village! I have been lucky to have worked alongside so many amazing change makers over the past twenty years. It has been an honour.”

Olivia Gillan-Bower, Chair of Little Village’s Board of Trustees said:

“I am so proud of Sophie and all she has achieved. Little Village is extremely lucky to have such a dedicated and talented leader at the helm.”

Not only did Sophie meet the Duke of Cambridge, but she was also delighted to meet TV personality, Mr Motivator, who was also at Windsor to receive his MBE!
