Need
help?
In a living room in Tooting, the first very first bundle was packed. There was our founder, surrounded by her friends and neighbours – the first Little Village volunteers. Coming together, they supported a local family who’d lost their home in a fire.
Volunteers remain at the heart of Little Village, whether it’s working with families directly, sorting donations, making deliveries or supporting over the phone.
In return we offer a very warm welcome and a hands-on way to make a positive difference; we couldn’t help all the families we do, without people like you.

Our Volunteer Roles
What will I be doing as a volunteer?
Activities can be different based on where you are or what role you have. But there is always something to do.
You might help families in person or on the phone; sort or deliver donations; helping us every week or just on specific days (one-off volunteering)
Click below to find out more on each of our roles:
Baby Bank Helper – greeting families, understanding their needs and supporting them to choose their items during their visit.
Pick & Pack – Sorting and checking donations, packing for referrals we’ve received and welcoming donations
You can also volunteer at home or in the community:
Signposting and Guidance – talking to families on the phone, helping them to access support with finances, housing, benefits and welfare. This is a homebased role.
Family Connections – Calling families to understand more about their situations, confirm their referral details and answering any questions. This is a homebased role.
Drivers – Delivering or collecting essential items across the Little Village network to families, hubs or donation points.
You can also get involved with a team of colleagues in one of our Corporate Volunteering sessions.
